Value addition that stays in Kenya.

Milele Agritech Limited is advancing value addition in Kenya's avocado sector by transforming locally sourced avocados into higher-value products rather than exporting raw produce.

Who we are

A manufacturer, not a middleman.

Through Milele Oils, the company produces crude and cold-pressed avocado oils for industrial, cosmetic, culinary and international markets, while helping reduce post-harvest losses by utilising fruit unsuitable for the fresh export market.

Through Avocare, Milele further transforms natural ingredients into consumer cosmetics and eco-friendly cleaning products, creating additional opportunities for local manufacturing and Kenyan brands.

Overall, Milele is building an integrated value chain that connects farmers to processing and manufacturing to higher-value markets, supporting farmer incomes, employment, local manufacturing and export growth.

Our structure

Two strategic business units, one value chain.

See what we do
Milele Oils — crude and cold-pressed avocado oil
Upstream

Milele Oils

Dedicated to upstream agricultural processing and the extraction of premium crude and cold-pressed avocado oils for industrial, bulk cosmetic and culinary buyers.

Avocare — consumer cosmetics and cleaning products
Downstream

Avocare

Dedicated to downstream FMCG manufacturing, transforming raw natural ingredients into premium consumer cosmetics and eco-friendly household and industrial cleaning solutions.

The Avocare range

Downstream products, certified to Kenyan standards.

Avocare, Milele Agritech's downstream consumer-products division, transforms locally sourced natural ingredients into high-quality, sustainable consumer products, with all products in the range holding the relevant KEBS certification.

Avocado oil-based cosmetics

A range of personal-care products formulated with avocado oil, offering nourishing and moisturising benefits for skin and hair while creating additional value from Kenya's avocado production.

Eco-friendly cleaning products

Household and industrial cleaning solutions developed for effective performance while promoting environmentally responsible formulations and sustainable practices.

All Avocare products are KEBS-certified, demonstrating compliance with the applicable Kenyan standards and approved product specifications. The certification strengthens consumer confidence, market acceptance and the competitiveness of Avocare products, while supporting their positioning for both local and regional markets.

Together, Avocare's product categories advance downstream value addition, transforming Kenyan agricultural resources into higher-value branded products while supporting local manufacturing, innovation, sustainability and quality assurance.

Our model

An inclusive, closed-loop processing model.

At the core of Milele Agritech's identity is a processing model engineered to deliver total environmental circularity while championing the financial empowerment of women across the industrial manufacturing value chain.

  1. 01

    Source

Avocados and natural inputs bought from smallholder farmers, with the aggregation and quality checks handled by us rather than by a broker.

  2. 02

    Extract

Fruit is washed, de-stoned and processed by Milele Oils into crude and cold-pressed avocado oil for industrial, cosmetic and culinary buyers.

  3. 03

    Formulate

Avocare takes the oil and other natural inputs and formulates them into consumer cosmetics and eco-friendly household and industrial cleaning products.

  4. 04

    Manufacture

Blending, filling, sealing, labelling and batch coding are all completed on site at our Embakasi facility.

  5. 05

    Recover

Skins, stones and press residue are recovered as by-product streams instead of being discarded the step that makes the loop closed rather than linear.

  6. 06

    Return

Recovered material and income go back to the farming communities the fruit came from, which is where the next season starts.

What we stand on

Three commitments we build around.

They shape how the plant is run, not just how the company is described.

Circularity, not disposal

The processing model is engineered for total environmental circularity. By-products from extraction are treated as inputs to something else rather than as waste to be paid to remove.

Women in the value chain

We champion the financial empowerment of women across the industrial manufacturing value chain in sourcing, on the production floor, and in the distribution network that carries the products to market.

Farmers reach commercial markets

Smallholders supplying us are selling into high-value commercial and export-grade demand, not into the farm-gate spot price. Bridging that gap is the reason the business exists.

On the ground

The people the value chain is built around.

Producer groups

Sourcing starts with the group, not the broker

Fruit is aggregated through organised farmer groups, so pricing, grading standards and delivery schedules are agreed with the growers directly rather than set further down the chain.

Meeting farmers where they already organise keeps volumes predictable for the plant and keeps the margin from aggregation with the people who grew the crop.

Women in the chain

Trade and distribution led by women

Women run a large share of avocado aggregation and trade in Kenya's markets. That is the same base we buy from, employ from and distribute through.

Championing the financial empowerment of women across the manufacturing value chain is a commitment we hold in sourcing, on the production floor and in the route to market.

Extension & quality

Better harvesting, less loss

Field training on picking technique, maturity and handling raises the share of fruit that arrives at the plant in usable condition and cuts post-harvest losses at source.

Fruit that falls short of fresh-export grade is not wasted, it goes into oil extraction, which is what allows us to take a wider grade band off farmers' hands.
