Reading a "100% natural" label without being fooled

The phrase is unregulated in most markets. Here is what to check on the back of the bottle instead.

"100% natural" is not a regulated claim in most of the markets we sell into. Anyone can print it.

What you can check is the ingredient list, and specifically where the oil appears in it. If avocado oil is fourth or fifth down, behind water and two emulsifiers, it is a marketing ingredient rather than a functional one.

Check for a manufacturer address too. If a product will not tell you who made it and where, that is usually deliberate.
